You’d have to be fool to think this theory has much explanatory value, which surely explains why Kuran tweeted it. Even if these things were true of humanities classes, this wouldn’t explain why the movement is almost exclusively *towards* the same majors at every school.
Many professors in the humanities keep calling it a packaging problem. Wrong. The real reasons enrollment is collapsing: obsession with identity, speech policing as virtue, and the conversion of entire disciplines into political projects.
