Ex Film and Media lecturer @VicUniWgtn. MA in Jean-Luc Godard, counter-culture & 1968. And some other stuff. Profile picture of me drawn thanks to @MrChuckD.

My deep anger is reserved for every politician in the last three years who countenances mass death, genocide, and the targeting of children, humanitarian workers, and journalists whose blood can be washed away with the language of "concern" as an action.
The UK government says it is ‘deeply troubled.’ What threshold must be crossed before Yvette Cooper moves from ‘concern’ to actually condemning the killing of civilians, destruction of neighborhoods, and violations of international law?

Israel killed 20K+ children (500X more than died on Oct 7) ostensibly to “prevent another Oct 7” and it’s insulting to everyones intelligence to act like this isnt the context in which these memorials operate. It’s a funny thing when everyone deliberately plays wounded and stupid

I disagree that this happened at all. We're now in a world where the fealty to another government's line is worthy of opprobrium to not tow it.

I don't know how anyone can countenance an ongoing genocide by blaming someone for not freezing history on a particular date. Would anyone care to discuss October 6, 2023? What level of fealty is sufficient? What level of abasement do you need? @NYMag
This day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers. It marks three years since the horrific war crimes of October 7. On that day, Hamas killed more than 1,100 Israelis and abducted 251 others. We grieve alongside our many friends and neighbors who still carry that unthinkable loss. The suffering did not begin nor end that day. It instead continued through the Israeli government’s devastating, ongoing genocide in Gaza, in which it has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians—including more than 21,000 children. Even since the so-called ceasefire, more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed. That suffering has intensified with every Israeli bomb dropped on ambulances waiting outside hospitals, every drone strike targeting a residential building or journalist, and every shipment of food aid turned away at a border crossing. Many New Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief, and we mourn alongside them – all while knowing that our tax dollars fund these war crimes. Three years later, we must refuse to accept a world in which occupation and apartheid continue, where war crimes are met with impunity, and our federal government continues its complicity with every arms shipment. To honor the dead, we must fight for a world in which every person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity.

You're literally shoving that a singular atrocity has occurred, and victiming anyone aware that another has been occurring since October 8, 2023.

No.
Three years ago Hamas terrorists launched a premeditated slaughter of innocent Israeli citizens, unleashing an explosion of violent antisemitism worldwide. As we remember the victims of 10/7, we must all recommit to confronting anti-Jewish hate wherever it appears.

One of the great things about being older is to recognise in New Zealand politics, how often we're presented with 'choices', that are merely split-the-vote Party's. TOP is one of them.
TOP will go with National to please their wealthy donors. It's a Trojan horse party pretending to be left. Their bottom lines prove that.

I'm happy to explain why this statement is obscene.

A vote for Opportunity is most likely a vote for another National coalition government. Do with that what you will.
Luxon refusing to give clear Yes or No to Jack Tame's question on whether National wld consider working with Opportunity in any arrangement. He waffled around the question. So there you have it. They will. If you vote for Opportunity, there is no guarantee you are voting Left.

The redemptive strategy for war criminals is the pretence there is a legitimate both-sidesing. It is a false narrative.

You don't have to have a Masters degree in film and be a former Media lecturer to acknowledge this woman is a rape apologist. I do happen to have a Masters degree in Film, and are a former Media lecturer, that also taught feminist film. This is fucking evil.

What i found the most profoundly disturbing is a 28 y/o having an ideology and belief that a corporation should subsume government, and believes it will act altruistically to cut cheques to the citizenry. It's garbage. youtube.com/watch?v=lnLDjXy2…
