I addressed the Ambassadors’ Council, stressing that ambassadors are the face of our country abroad. Their expertise, competence, knowledge of the host country and ability to advance our national interests are essential to the credibility of Macedonian diplomacy.
In today’s multipolar reality, we must strengthen proactive diplomacy, guided by a clear, national and non-partisan foreign policy compass.
An ambassador is not only a representative of state policies, but also someone who understands the host country, recognizes changes and risks, and creates opportunities for political, economic, scientific and cultural cooperation.
I encouraged our ambassadors to help us understand how our country is perceived abroad, identify opportunities and risks, and closely follow changes in the positions of our partners and host countries.
