That’s why we so often hear about Kpop idols being hesitant to open up about their lives outside the spotlight. The industry has built an entire culture around selling an image, sometimes to the point where fans start believing that the person they see on stage is who the idol is supposed to be 24/7. The moment they show a more ordinary side of themselves, it breaks that fantasy. And apparently, some fans aren’t comfortable with that because they’ve become so attached to the version of their idols they’ve created in their heads. 🤷🏻♂️
