ALT The Hollow
carved from absence,
the distance of apathy
where the soulless are tethered to dust,
their tyranny a void;
the clattering teeth of the dead
remembering their lips
and the lies they spoke.
The Plenty
pollinated fields
glisten in sinuous swells,
dewdrop scintillation
shifting currents;
rising stalks of revolution,
roots joined in the rhizosphere,
love blotting out fear.
– Gayle J. Greenlea
ALT A Modern Love
Kitchen roll stuffed between each toe
foot balanced on a pouffe
and a cataract in one eye
love paints her toenails.
Love considers dying his beard
as white hairs grow amongst darker
but it is not vain so delicately trims
and defines the shape to be modern.
Paul Brookes
ALT A Modern Hate
Hate warned him. Stuffs his life
into black plastic bags ready
for the morning binmen
Warned him that if he didn't change...
Hate quietly scams her life
Smiles at how gullible she is.
Another successful conquest.
Chats up someone else online.

A poem for @TopTweetTuesday that fits in this space...
THIS FEELING
is fixed.
Swamp dark.
Raw and prehistoric.
Piranhas gnashing
between stomach and heart
hollowing.
ALT Scanned
Breathe in…
Hold.
…
Breathe.
…
The American-accented
white donut
tells me when.
…
My body ectoplasms to
grainy imaging
I can’t interpret.
Exhalations segue to
lambent acceptance.
…
Answers mirage.
I was told it’s like
chasing shadows

ALT poem
I have trouble getting off the sofa
and I tell everyone that it's my rice crispy knees, but really,
I can't be assed anymore as
I've been abraded so thin
by the heavy rasp of everyone else's tongue licking the life down and out of my tracing paper skin.

sorry if this is not imagist enough I am trying to let my weirdo out and coming back after a pause thanks @MatthewMCSmith and #toptweettuesday for the prompt
