It's been wild, but I think that's it for me. Expect my posting frequency on here to drop sharply. I'll keep an eye on things but it's a secondary platform for me now.
Mastodon was already feeling like a better place to be, and Twitter's fate is sealed.
@gsuberland@chaos.social
@benjames171 bit of a long shot but I'm trying to track down info on the DMS tracker library you used in Psychon 1. Credits say it was contributed by Elliot Lee. Was that a DMS from X-Tracker, or something else? And do you happen to know where I might reach Elliot?
I'm already dormant here, but my account will probably be suspended in the coming week due to not meeting this asinine new link policy. I won't be complying.
You can find my alternative contact details in my pinned tweet and bio.
So long and thanks for all the fish.
apparently this place is becoming even more of a trainwreck so I guess now is as good a time as any to remind you that fedifinder is a super easy to use service that discovers the mastodon accounts of people you follow on here as an importable CSV
fedifinder.glitch.me/
and if you follow me here and want to continue to see the stuff I post, my mastodon username is the same as here but at chaos dot social.
I'm very active on there, and essentially inactive here.
just checked my last three exported CSVs from fedifinder to see how many people I follow have mastodon accounts listed in their profile:
2022-11-03: 82
2022-11-05: 113
2022-11-07: 137
just realised I never actually linked fedifinder in this thread.
auth it with twitter, click "scan followings", go to the bottom, click the "export fedifinder accounts csv" button, then on mastodon go to settings -> import and you can autofollow everyone
fedifinder.glitch.me/
2022-12-12: 371
this represents 92 new accounts since 2022-11-18, rather than 62 new as the totals would suggest, because 30 people I follow have nuked their twitter accounts since my last export so fedifinder can't see them any more.
btw if you ever want to pull out the parts from an Altium IntLib so you can edit them, just open it up in 7z (it supports OLE Compound Documents) and the PcbLib/SchLib files are just embedded inside it.
just added *ten thousand* capacitors from the JLCPCB parts library to my Altium SchLib repository, complete with parametric data!
performed manually, this would take at least 100 hours of work. with automation, it takes about six seconds :D
github.com/gsuberland/altium…
updated, with 44387 resistors added!
extended parts are now split into separate schlib files for each package size, because a single combined schlib took >1hr to open in Altium.
Fed up of manually creating new parts in an Altium SchLib for every single new resistor or capacitor you need from JLCPCB's basic parts catalogue?
I've saved you a job. I reverse engineered the SchLib format and auto-generated 365 parts. Enjoy.
github.com/gsuberland/altium…
The two SchLib files contain every single 0805, 0603, and 0402 resistor and capacitor in the JLCPCB basic parts catalogue. They reference just six standard footprints, making the SchLib files super low effort to use.
ALT Buff doge / weak doge meme.

correction: vulnerable code exists in older versions, but it wasn't actually reachable until recently. exploit doesn't work in Altium 20 or 18. probably made exploitable in 21 or 22.
