Everyone listen to “At Issue” on @WBBMNewsradio this weekend. They are discussing that 40% of Chicago Public School students are “chronically absent” (more than 10% of the time). The guest on the show is listing excuses about why this happens but hasn’t mentioned parents once.

Wait! She just talked about parents. She said kids have a tough time dealing when their parents get incarcerated or are killed in street violence so they don’t go to school. I wonder how parents might be able to prevent those things?
