Head of Engineering @tryramp - saving time and money

New York, NY
We built Inspect to help our teammates spend less time getting stuck and more time bringing their ideas to life. Watching what they’ve built with it has been my favorite part. Today, we get to share it with you. Can’t wait to see what you build ❤️ Sign up for early access: inspect.com/

At @tryramp, an agent roasts bad UX, then fixes it. Meet Roasty. Today it fixed a small bug, posted a video in the relevant Slack channel, and got a PR reviewed by another agent and merged. But no one warned us that it decided to dress up for halloween... which was an interesting surprise

We just got to market as first true B2B router and we already pulling ahead, message me if you want to bring your business to router and save ~40% on your token costs and have better cost attribution.
How do model routers compare to individual models on real agentic tasks? Introducing the Vals Router Index. Routers promise to balance quality and cost across a fast-moving model frontier. We put that promise to the test with an independent evaluation of five routers (OpenRouter Auto, FireRouter, Ramp Router, Jev, Fugu Max) against every single model on the Vals Index, using the same agents, ~1,250 tasks and graders across finance, coding, law and tax. We found that routing didn’t consistently deliver better value. Every router was beaten on both score and cost by at least one single model.

Behind every fast engineering team is a deeply successful internal tool. When I joined Ramp 3.5 years ago, I quickly realized my job wasn’t to criticize engineers who move with urgency, ship a ton, and sometimes break things. My job was to help them ship even faster - as safely as possible. And to this day, even though we’re a Series F company, we move much faster than we did at Series A. T-7 days…

Arguably the best coding agent out there - inspect, too bad it’s internal to Ramp 🙃
Ramp Inspect was so far ahead of its time. Still is.

We've built a software factory at Ramp, powered by Inspect. 3.4× the PR volume. 1.65× the active contributors (non-engineers ship too!). Less human glue. Less friction. More shipping. More customer problems solved.

we are looking for a Design Systems Lead to take @tryramp's DS to the next-level ping me if you think you are the right mix of an idealist, pragmatist, ai maximalist, driven, excited about the future, and understand the tradeoffs of what it takes for Eng x Design to excel
