maybe a good time to revisit our options ui from
@heat_fi built on top of
@DeriveXYZ
we focused initialy on range and breakout plays which are nice but don't give you that multiple X everybody is chasing, these trades were routed as long/short strangles to derive while abstracting away all the option complexities in the UI
instead I think the biggest use case for onchain retail options are these deep OTM bets, with low probability of profit and big upside potential, but most importantly without liquidation risk
the most alluring part of options is their assymetric payoff, this gives a unique angle which is not attainable through any other financial instrument onchain, not even perps
giving normie users the ability to place these high payout, assymetric bets from a UX that is as simple as placing a 20x long on hyperliquid is something that can find a good PMF in the near future
interested to see where derive and onchain options go from here, these past few days ppl been opening a lot of
$ETH call spreads on X
derive will need some sort of beginner friendly mode if it really wants to go mainstream
there is absolutely no way the average person understands this ui, let alone wants to trade on it
