Security Notice: Magic Eden Exploit A vulnerability in an old Magic Eden trading contract, Payment Processor V2, is currently being exploited to take NFTs from wallets that previously listed assets on Magic Eden. Decentraland’s smart contracts are safe and have not been compromised. This exploit is specific to an external Magic Eden trading contract. The Decentraland Foundation and @RegensisLabs acted to identify exposed wallets on Ethereum and Polygon and move Decentraland assets out of reach of the exploit. So far: 217 Decentraland assets were rescued, including Wearables, Emotes, and LAND 38 wallets were protected Approximately 1,500 Decentraland assets appear to have been taken across multiple wallets before they could be secured 0 transferable Decentraland assets currently remain exposed The situation is still being monitored in case additional assets enter an exposed wallet. If you have ever listed Decentraland assets on Magic Eden, please take action now: Check your wallet Use Revoke Cash's Magic Eden exploit checker to see whether your wallet is affected and whether your assets are safe: revoke.cash/exploits/magic-e… Revoke the old Magic Eden approval If your wallet is still exposed, revoke every approval to Payment Processor V2 on both Ethereum and Polygon. Once the approval has been revoked, any assets secured by the team will automatically be returned to the same wallet. There is no claim link, payment, or additional signature required. Stay vigilant Some Decentraland Names and other assets were stolen during the exploit. Be especially cautious of unfamiliar accounts, links, and messages both in-world and across community channels. As a general security practice, this is also a good time to review your wallet permissions and revoke approvals you no longer need. Decentraland will never ask for your seed phrase, payment, or a signature to return rescued assets. Please stay safe everyone and continue to look out for one another 🙏
