This past weekend, thousands of anti-government protesters were arrested in New Delhi. A movement that began several months ago, and was initially focussed on demands to reform India’s education system, has now centered itself around the government’s decision to remove more than 100 million people from the country’s voter rolls. “By sheer numbers, this is one of the largest-ever exercises of disenfranchisement in the history of the world,” Yogendra Yadav, an activist and political scientist says. Read Isaac Chotiner’s full conversation with Yadav about the widespread unrest in Narendra Modi’s India and the aggressive action taken by a panic-stricken regime that knows it is losing popularity: newyorker.com/news/q-and-a/i…

Tibet was never part of China & Chinese history itself proves it. CCP has zero legitimate claim. When Chinese scholars expose this using China’s own documents, it strengthens every Tibetan. Now the world must unite & force #CCP to end its occupation. #FreeTibet #XiJinping #UN #US #India

If the SC does not step in to order the police forces to stop the violence by them on peaceful lawyers & other protesters, & does not order the police to detain right wing goons who are perpetrating & threatening violence on protestors, it will not only become irrelevant, but will also become the object of ridicule in the country & internationally

🚨MASSIVE BREAKING : SHOCKING Statement by CJI Surya Kant🤯 (MUST Read & Share) CJI Surya Kant: > "If every citizen becomes a journalist, it will create problems for all." Think about it for a second. Problems for WHOM? > The citizen who filmed Ankita Bhandari's parents being detained? > The student who recorded protesters being dragged into buses? > The phone that caught what godi media refused to show? Those videos aren't a problem for democracy. They're a problem for POWER. When TV anchors stopped asking questions, ordinary Indians picked up their phones and did the job for them. Not every citizen is a professional journalist. But every citizen has Article 19, the right to free speech and expression. Your Lordships, stand by the CONSTITUTION, not STATE POWER 🙏🗿🔥

The hesitation of @PMOIndia to depict Ћ Int'l border of India with @ETExileGov on the Kuen Lun Range in Kashmir on Ћ Taghdumbash Pamir, & the Kukalang, Yangi, Kilian, Sanju-la & Hindu-tash Passes emphasised the lack of commitment to protect the territorial integrity of Kashmir.

Partition was arguably a poor long term move for the Muslims of the subcontinent. If you look at current births, what are now Pakistan and Bangladesh would be very signficant blocks in a united India. Also consider that Muslim birthrates are higher than Hindu in modern India itself. 25%+ of those births in UP and Bihar are likely to Muslims. Over the long term, Muslims had a real shot at becoming at least co-equal if not dominant in a united sub-continent.

Gaza is a 'textbook genocide'. This is according to Raz Segal - an Israeli associate professor of Holocaust and genocide studies at Stockton University in the US. Listen carefully to what he says. It's based on facts, law and precedent - and it should terrify you.

My name appears in these emails. It is unacceptable for an institution tasked with protecting human rights defenders to share their information with a repressive government. Its leadership cannot evade responsibility for practices carried out during its tenure. Human rights leadership demands accountability and the protection of those who speak out.
