Why do firm sizes vary so much? @reniabbott's JMP studies buyers and products. Buyers explain most of it, but the two are complements. Firms with 10% more buyers sell 5.6% more products. Her model untangles this link and finds spillovers.

I really like @GiuliaLoForte's JMP. It takes theory+identification seriously to help motivate/inform aggregate effects, which is a micro+macro combo that I also tried to do in my JMP. In coming years, follow @hmitchell_14's work on well identified growth effects of mkt access.
What are the effects of trade on domestic innovation a&nd product variety?
At #FirmsTradeDev, @GiuliaLoForte discusses a new way of measuring variety when assessing the contributions from US vs China owned firms: trademarks.
