Once again am amazed at the inability of women I’d considered stalwart fighters *against* the traditionalist hierarchy that subjugates women, gay people, ethnic minorities etc - to completely miss it when the SAME hierarchy crops up in a form they don’t recognise or support.

As early as December 2023, the Israeli government stopped a hostages deal, because the sadists of Hamas refused to return more female hostages. It still agreed to free the elderly kibbutz men, most of whom were later murdered. Netanyahu was far more interested in “educating” Hamas (his term) by escalating the Gaza war to the tune of Ben Gvir and Strook. Annihilating Gaza was far more attractive to them than saving innocent lives. As one elderly hostage told a fellow hostage, “We are kibbutzniks. This government will not get us home.” She was eventually released, he was murdered.
As to the oh-so-fortunate hostages released alive in later deals, they owe their freedom to Donald Trump, and probably Miriam Edelson. We know that too.
Read the testimony of an IDF general who steered the hostage deals - the early ones, the aborted ones, the needlessly late and the far too late ones.

If you adopt the position only white people can be English, that is by definition racist. It’s not really a debatable point.
You’ve called me racist this evening- albeit in a contorted way- but in doing so, you’ve lowered the tone of the debate with divisive and inflammatory language.
And absurdly, you’re suggesting that I’m being racist against myself.
It’s because of irresponsible language like yours that we in Reform need security.
The left can keep smearing us as racist for challenging the cosy consensus on mass migration but we will not be bullied into silence.

My kids are a mix of English, Irish, Scottish and Welsh by inheritance, but no one would question whether two white people are “ethnically English”. This kind of rhetoric is absolutely about skin colour, and it’s gross.
So Hindu-Sikh Sonia Sodha whose parents emigrated to England from East Africa has blocked me for suggesting that she can’t identify into English nationality because we English are a definable ethnic group. If she’s right and I’m wrong then I don’t have an ethnicity clearly.

I have watched this 45 second clip several times. It is the most disturbing, chilling sign of the sickness that is the trademark of the pro-Palestine activists.
Sabine Taasa survived October 7. Her husband died jumping on a grenade to protect their sons. Their 17-year-old son was murdered that day. She got on a stage in the Netherlands to tell them what happened to her family that day. They booed her, laughed, and shouted “we don’t care” and “too bad the Germans didn’t finish you off” until she had to leave the stage.
This is who they are. They cannot bear a Jewish mother speaking the names of her dead, they cannot face the facts of what really took place on October 7. They sicken me.

Sadly Oli has become the Danny Thommo for generation hate the elderly. There will be real world consequences for some of the most vulnerable people in society. Very poor, very ill elderly people. The hateful rhetoric around the elderly is actually disgusting. And these lot think they are the kind people.
