While Nepal shows the horror — entire villages & roads swept away — #CCP censors the Tibetan side, refuses to name Tibet, hides deaths & stops locals from rescuing their own. Shame. #FreeTibet #XiJinping #CCPLies #TibetFloods #NepalFlooding #UN #CTA
Footage shows the moment a bridge in Nukawot, Nepal, is washed away after a fatal flash flood and mudslide on the Nepal-Tibet border. More than 150 people have been killed and hundreds more are missing. Live updates: bbc.in/4wNx3tp

A devastating flash flood tore through Kyirong, Tibet, and Rasuwa, Nepal, on August 26, leaving communities shattered and hundreds feared dead or missing. The disaster destroyed villages and critical infrastructure along the Lhende River, which flows into Nepal as the Bhote Koshi. But the full scale of the devastation in Tibet remains difficult to know. China’s tight information blockade, censorship and restrictions on independent media and humanitarian access are keeping the world in the dark. When lives are at stake, information should not be controlled by the CCP. The international community must demand unfettered humanitarian and media access to Tibet, transparency and real-time cross-border disaster information, and an end to Beijing’s information blockade. And language matters: Kyirong is Tibet. Tibet is not “Xizang.” We must not allow Beijing to control the language used to describe Tibetan places, people and tragedies. Stand with the communities of Tibet and Nepal. Demand truth. Demand access. Stand with Tibet. #Tibet #Kyirong #Nepal #Rasuwa #FreeTibet #StandWithTibet #TibetClimateCrisis #SaveTibet #TibetanEnvironment #TibetanIdentity #China #CCP #CCPPropaganda #InformationBlockade #HumanRights #ClimateJustice #EnvironmentalJustice #TibetWillBeFree

Large scale destruction on Nepal Tibet Border. My guess, China’s tunnelling or hydropower activity may be a contributory factor that caused this particular glacier burst. China is undertaking undergrd excavation, hydropower & tunnelling projects across the Tibetan Plateau. The bigger question was this detectable and if so, why was no warning shared downstream? China has extensive satellite coverage of Tibet, while similar events occurred in July 2025. This is not about assigning blame before facts are established. It is about transparency, early warning mechanisms and disaster cooperation. If the lake was visible in satellite imagery, could an earlier warning have saved lives?

My heart aches for Nepal! China destroyed the Himalayan Rivers flowing through it's territories, and now the price is being payed by the lower riparian nations!

Tibet is hit by this devastating flood. #China’s reckless environmental destruction is responsible. Those still saying “China’s Tibet” instead of standing in solidarity are delivering a deep insult to the Tibetan people. #FreeTibet #XiJinping #US #EU #Nepal #India #UN

Community note
The flash flood in Nepal's Rasuwa was triggered by a natural ice-rock avalanche blocking a river in Tibet (possibly with glacial lake involvement), per preliminary assessments by Nepali authorities and experts, not Chinese constructions. kathmandupost.com/national/2026/… myrepublica.nagariknetwork.com/news/tibetan-r… reuters.com/business/envir

The low quality dams built by China in Chinese occupied Tibet created flash floods in Nepal. Sigh, so much loss of life because of china and its low quality raw materials.

I am overseeing a few papers at NeurIPS this time - and I can identify many are from paper mill and collusion labs - could also tell from specific reviewer giving weirdly positive rating. Let me tell you, you scumbags - your paper is going to be rejected.
