I think the community massively underrates the Cold War maps nowadays. Firebase Z worked extremely well at invoking new ideas while still serving as a fun accessible casual map. I guarantee, most of these maps if added to Black Ops 7 in a Dark Aether Chronicles DLC, they’d really grow on the community.

I wouldn't call Firebase Z great at invoking new ideas. It's an incredibly by the numbers experience. While Orda and the defense waves are clear standouts it's simply lacking substantial development to truly expand on these ideas

I was indeed mainly referring to the Orda defense waves, I really enjoyed those. I think the defense waves might’ve been Treyarch’s realization as to how far they can try and take Boss Fights with the new mechanics (I mainly play for Boss Fights, so I’m a bit biased lol). Definitely not a perfect map, but I do wish it got some loves

Really? Mauer had a really fun Easter Egg, multiple new enemies, a really fun Wonder Weapon, and unique levels of verticality. Forsaken was a really solid ending to the game, also had a fun Wonder Weapon, had a really good map size, etc. Die Maschine was a pretty fun map as well.

Firebase Z improving the Origins idea of "defend waves" and utilizing the power generators made me instantly fall in love with it. I always wanted a COD that focused on the CW and Vietnam. I got both with Firebase Z. Cherry on top is the Ray Gun mk4.

I ABSOLUTLY LOVE EVERY MODE OF COLD WAR!Played it still completly regularly during Vanguard and MWII. It was my favorite cod a long time,but I gotta admid, Bo7 growed even more on my heart during the last year so with my fullest heart @Treyarch please,give us at least bo6 weapons

all of these maps are absolutely awful. They literally have no content there is nothing on them lol. bo1 maps have more shit to them or on them then cold war maps its embarrassing. These maps would play even worse in bo6 and bo7 I just don't agree especially with new sprinters

Die Maschine gets way too much hate , ive loved the idea of an expanded Nacht since TranZit / Rev , it would def play much better with Omni the rest feel like BO1 in the best ways , i would loove to play them again with the mechanical upgrades we’ve had since CW

My main issue with a lot of cold war maps is they lack a lot of depth in the quests and complexity department. They started bringing it back a bit with mauer and forsaken but its nowhere close to where I like it. Most of the quest designs are make the WW then 3-4 steps then done.

Yeah honestly I wouldn’t mind playing die machine or even firebase with the new gameplay enhancements black ops 7 has, I always felt like bocw maps felt like it was missing something and it would make me appreciate these maps more (especially if we’re able to play it in cursed)

Genuinely my only problem with it is the mimic step, and even then that was only a huge issue in the initial hunt, overall it has very little randomness, you only have three areas to check. I know people hate the mimic spam, but they’re more common due to their low health pool

I Still play em regardless of opinions made as I grew up with Cod Zombies when I was younger as it helped me in a sense after getting out of Foster care so I do appreciate the Interconnected stuff from The campaign & zombies coexisting regardless of what some say is "canon" lol

Recently got back into cold war and honestly i absolutely LOVE firebase Z and really think its VERY overly hated, only thing i hate is the assault waves with orda...WW is goated and the EE is not that bad...
