I really loved Mike Flanagan’s Carrie! boxd.it/gzW81Z

Review of ‘Carrie’ (2026)

Based on the first two episodes I got to watch at Beyond Fest, I can happily say that I love Mike Flanagan’s adaptation of Carrie. Sure, would have been fun to get a chunky Carrie but I think…

and this is coming from a book fan btw. I liked most of the changes Flanagan’s made! Rather than yet another 1-1 adaptation, I like when someone can take the source material and adapt it in a different way (as long as it’s good).

RIVER stressed me out omg. A fun straightforward slasher elevated by Jane Levy’s incredible performance. Jessica Rothe is also great, as usual. I was on the edge of my seat. It’s shot beautifully, is brutal and very entertaining. Don’t miss it when it releases in theaters!

Mike Flanagan says that he envisions ‘CARRIE’ as a 3-season story: “In my dream scenario, I think it’s 3 seasons. In my dream scenario, I think Carrie has a wonderful 3-step arc. It’s a trilogy, really.” (Source: collider.com/carrie-series-t…)
