i can actually relate to this as an SMM.
i volunteered for 3 different accounts and made sure i actually did a good job, even when i wasn’t getting paid.
the goal was to have real results and work i could confidently put in my PoW as proof of what i can do.
my first ever 3 figs paid deal came from the 3rd founder i worked with. he recommended me to another founder and vouched for me based on the work i did on his page.
you genuinely never know who is watching fr.
so if you’re going to work for free, don’t give them a mid job because you aren’t getting paid. treat it like a real opportunity.
i actually believe in volunteering when you’re trying to build your PoW.
a lot of people say they can’t work for free, and i understand that.
but sometimes volunteering isn’t only about helping the project. it’s also about testing yourself.
how do you know you’re actually good at something if you never give yourself the chance to do it?
working on a real project gives you experience, teaches you how to handle different situations and gives you something to show the next founder.
and that experience also helps you understand your own worth when it’s time to start charging.
because when a founder is choosing between you and 20 other people, saying “i’m good at SMM” isn’t enough.
having proof that you’ve actually done the work gives you the upper hand.
sometimes you need to do the work first before you can confidently put a price on it.
you're welcome.
