Eyewitness Account Suggests Pilot Tried to Evade Ground Collision by Landing in Water - Ilodigwe
The crash of the Nigeria Air Force aircraft in Ondo State was traumatic for many residents, who described seeing the aircraft flying at a very low altitude, almost hitting the roofs of their buildings, before heading quickly toward the swamp. Upon impact, residents said they went to rescue any survivors, but all they could see were personal belongings floating to the surface. With a Naval Base very close to the crash site, one wonders if the pilot noticed issues with the aircraft and looked for the nearest base to land the plane in an attempt to save lives.
