Bad facts make bad law. We see this in jurisdictions all over the world, especially when it comes to digital assets. Unfortunately, we are about to see this again-this time in the EU-in the form of a revision to the Transfer of Funds Regulation. blog.coinbase.com/making-you…

If adopted, this revision would unleash an entire surveillance regime on exchanges like Coinbase, stifle innovation, and undermine the self-hosted wallets that individuals use to securely protect their digital assets.

A vote on the draft proposal could come as early as Thursday. If you care about protecting the privacy of individuals, and focusing the law on solutions that actually address legitimate concerns about the illicit use of digital assets, now is the time to speak up and be heard.

Unfortunately, EU is good at discouraging tech ecosystems & good at creating inefficient, byrocratic regulations. It focuses too much on supporting old, unethical businesses.

We need better educated legislators that understand the tech and can inform the law-making process. Crypto need a stronger lobbying front in the EU.

It is to regulate thieves of your kind that these new laws arrive. You've stolen thousands of customers because cryptos aren't regulated by the SEC or you'd be in jail a long time ago!. COINBASE is a SCAM and Brian ARMSTRONG a THIEF 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

sad to say, my country already implemented it with Coinbase needing me to confirm the identity of the receiver and Gemini allowing me to only send to myself / attested addresses.

How does this fit to the GDPR principles? Official EU website: „Stronger rules on data protection mean people have more control over their personal data and businesses benefit from a level playing field.“ #Hypocrites ( ec.europa.eu/info/law/law-t… ) @coinbase @TheCryptoLark @btcecho

They are the ones who fabricated these facts. How are you going to convince them that they're wrong on the theory they created themselves? They think like that because that's exactly what they would do. They think like criminals because that's what they are.
