We cannot understand what we were taught to fear.
And we cannot preserve what we refuse to understand.
Our Òrìṣà carry stories, symbolism, history, and generations of Yorùbá memory.
Somewhere along the way, much of that became something to demonise rather than something to understand.
So I want to spend some time looking again.
Not through fear.
Through curiosity.
Through art.
Not to convince anyone of what to believe.
But to appreciate.
To learn.
To remember.
The beauty.
The symbolism.
The stories.
The people who carried them.
One Òrìṣà at a time.
And we begin with Yèyé Ọ̀ṣun. 🌊
