This tweet reminded me of something from Mysore.
When I was a kid, my grandmother would say, “I’ll get down at the Kamlaarm stop” (ಕಮಲಾರ್ಮ್) whenever she was talking on the phone with one of our relatives.
It took me almost 8–10 years to realize that she was actually saying “Kamala Raman stop.” And it’s the name of a hospital. 😂
I also learned that same day that this relative lived near Sharada Vilas College.

The U turn before Doddakannalli turn is left to 3 metal barricades (forcing you suddenly change ‘lanes’) and divine intervention.

I can tolerate mischievous kids, and in fact, I quite like them. But mannerless kids are a different story. I’ve left get-togethers more than once when kids behaved badly and their parents just sat there laughing or saying nothing.
Why can’t some parents teach their kids basic manners?
