Our 1st game is a bullet heaven called Dark Thoughts. It's about battling all of the negative thoughts that attack you all day and night. Out in October. Please wishlist, it helps new indie devs a lot! store.steampowered.com/app/4…

For the vibe coders who plan to actually make and release games, get orientated with @Steam much earlier than you think you need to do. It's a great platform if you leverage the event calendar but the amount of work to distribute is 10x more than you think it is.

I got the website up for my agentic #gamedev studio called Secret Studio. It also has a preview of the mobile app, Secret Lair. All of the images are just placeholders until I can work on the cosmetics of the app but you can see all of the features now. secretstudio.ai

I left my game studio running for a few days, on a low cadence of tasks so they don't eat all my tokens. But look at that estimated token cost so far. I've got a subscription plugged in so there's no actual cost but it proves it's expensive to make games with AI currently.

It's #DemoMonday! Check out this bullet heaven demo.
Have you ever played Vampire Survivors by @poncle_soft? It spawned a whole new genre of games called Bullet Heavens. My first game built with AI falls in this category. Try out the demo for free! The full game gets released in October. store.steampowered.com/app/5…

I added a social feed for my agentic #gamedev team so they can share media from the tasks they are working on. Little did I know, it actually saves me time from checking the build consistently as I can just peruse their feed and see what they are checking in!

Spending way too much time on the cosmetic aspect of this. I know it'll be important for some users to watch the ant farm but isn't imperative to the product working and it does work, it can build actual games (not just prototypes).

I had a bunch of @MeshyAI credits left that were going to lapse so I decided to model the character set I had been designing using @midjourney. Overall, it kept the silhouettes all intact but had a lot of scratchy outputs that'll need to be cleaned up manually.

The first real test of my agentic game studio: I let it build a game from just a basic concept and a simple asset pack. The video is the game the agents built on their own. I asked for a bullet heaven using @PixelFrogStudio's Tiny Swords art and nothing else. I didn't interfere with the design or the development. For the first run I wanted to see what it could produce on its own, and whether it would be better than just asking an LLM to build you a bullet heaven. It took 4 full days. My studio runs work lanes so agents don't eat tokens at a ridiculous rate (which they will if you let them), and they completed over 400 tasks to get through the full #gamedev cycle. It's not a shippable game in its current state. But it has all of the working systems and got much further than I anticipated. All in all, a successful test! Next up, give it a game I designed and direct the virtual studio throughout the full cycle.

Reapercussions development is on hold while I finish up the Dark Thoughts release but I'm starting early on the marketing materials this time around.

Making games is hard. Making an agentic #gamedev studio that can make games is even harder. I'm almost done my first full dev cycle run where I just let them build off a GDD. 4 days in, 200+ tasks completed on their own. Oh, the naked game designer? He's too busy for clothes.

The slop argument isn't even worth debating. Every form of content has low-to-high tier levels. Slop just fills up the lower and forces discovery to become more important, that's it. It'll make auteurs and tastemakers the new influencers of tomorrow. Be those.

I can't wait to ship my current game so I can get back to developing Reapercussions! It's been the best prototype I've ever built, commercially or independently, and I can't wait for people to play it as it has bonafide fun factor.

One of my favorite things about having an agentic dev team over a human one, HR isn't a thing and you can pick on any of the agents you want 😈

The Dark Thoughts demo is out now!! There's two 5 minute levels to play, both with bosses. First person to post a screenshot in this thread of defeating 2nd boss gets a steam key for the full game! store.steampowered.com/app/5…

Vibe coding games has its deficiencies from the traditional ways but the benefits are in abundance. Once I learned these deficiencies I started to smooth them out which improved my overall workflow. So, I spent last night building a visual version of it that is agentically functional, plugs into any LLM and builds your game iteratively through the actual stages of #gamedev.

Been quiet recently as I've been building and testing the demo for Dark Thoughts, which has an upcoming deadline with Next Fest starting next month. If you've ever published a game on Steam independently then you know how challenging they make it, it's borderline psychotic.
