Two years ago Steve Yegge wrote the article βDeath of the Junior Developerβ. Looking back, what it got wrong was that itβs actually death of the traditional developer, at all levels.
In the new world, there are still junior developers and seniors and whatever, except itβs defined by how capable you are coding with AI and building systems at ridiculous velocities and delivering exponentially higher number of outcomes with broader impact without burnout.
In this definition we all have started again from junior role and are learning our lessons.
