Reddit Marketing 101 (you don't wanna miss this)
A part of me wanted to figure out distribution for the longest time, as I am a tech growth person, which means I can code a little bit(mostly Claude code now) and build some good products, too.
So I was lurking around Reddit for the past couple of months to get eyes on my product or any service that I am willing to offer. Ironically, I got viral posts and viral comments multiple times, which landed me insane job and freelance opportunities from Reddit alone.
You can look at the linked image below.
And no, I never dropped a link in a post DIRECTLY(there is a way for that) or talked about how good I am at something or even talked about anything or had a blocked account.
Reddit isn't like any other platform, ig, and that's what makes it special, and it's insanely hard to crack. Now, whatever I am trying to do is working, and I will just keep on doing more for my upcoming little products.
Anyways, now the point (how did I do it?)
I followed a couple of steps.
> Mostly talked in the same niche about different problems and added the pure value stuff that I knew or even used AI for the extra hand there(just research, not writing).
> Promoted my thing directly in some subreddits where it was allowed, although I got blocked from a few subreddits too, but it doesn't matter; I have multiple accounts.
> Most of the posts that went viral got replies, negative and positive both, and people came onto my profile to check the product (this is what got me views to the product)
> About the AI citations for GEO/SEO/AEO, whenever my post would be going viral, I'll edit the post and then add my link there too.
(I used to do this for very few subreddits and for very little restrictive ones) - IMP point
> Being in the same niche and talking about different stuff got TOF(top of the funnel) people in the funnel, and BOF(bottom of the funnel) people got converted by the links in my profile and also a ton of testimonials on my landing page too.
But due to this, now I don't do this.
Because I started ranking on Google, and most people search on Google, then end up on Reddit or directly on my site and then boom, a sale.
- Do it very slowly, and without any automation.
- Add humour, add mistakes while typingg... Just do more and slower.
I got a couple of posts with like 120k views, 90k posts, 3k posts, etc.
Although they are scattered in different niches, but mostly in which is where my product audience is sitting.
