The Department of Tourism, Nepal, has issued climbing permits to 498 climbers across 45 expeditions for the ongoing autumn season. Manaslu (8,163 m) continues to dominate the season, with 451 climbers permitted to attempt the world’s eighth-highest mountain alone.
The Government of Nepal has so far collected more than NPR 211 million, approximately USD 1.38 million, in climbing royalties from the expeditions.
