What is happening in Gitovu is more than a facility, it's an investment in better child nutrition, stronger families and sustainable livelihoods.
We’re proud to testify to the impact. @samnduwa
Yesterday, we officially inaugurated the poultry and rabbits facility in Gitovu Sector, Burera District — a joint initiative between @hezainitiatives and Société Commerciale Gabonaise de Réassurance aimed at improving children’s nutrition while strengthening community livelihoods.
Through poultry and rabbit farming, the project will generate nutritious foods, particularly #eggs, which will be regularly incorporated into meals for children at Gicura Early Childhood Development Centre (ECD).
The project goes beyond nutrition. By supporting local livestock production and strengthening the knowledge and skills of parents and community members, we aim to create a sustainable approach to preventing malnutrition and stunting while creating opportunities for families to improve their livelihoods.
We believe that when nutrition, agriculture, and community empowerment come together, we create lasting impact for children and families.
A big thank you to Société Commerciale Gabonaise de Réassurance, #Burera District, the local leadership, parents, community members, and everyone who contributed to making this initiative possible.
