Judge Shelley Joseph - faces zero jail time for aiding an illegal alien escape ICE. 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
In 2018, a twice-deported defendant wanted by ICE appeared in her Newton courtroom. An ICE agent was waiting in the lobby. The judge had the agent sent outside, ordered the courtroom recorder shut off, discussed the ICE detainer off the record, and floated holding the man overnight in state custody.
He then left through a back door and escaped.
Federal obstruction charges were dropped in 2022. Yesterday the SJC issued a public reprimand. She is still on the bench, now at Boston Municipal Court, making $208,000.
Zero consequences for aiding an illegal alien escape ICE custody.
