The past 18 months have been some of the hardest of my life.
Not just as an entrepreneur, but as a mother and as a person. I basically disappear from our my social circle.
I was caring for a newborn, then went through another pregnancy and childbirth, while at the same time navigating some of the most difficult moments our company has faced. Depression is real, but inspiration is stronger.
There were many moments when I genuinely wanted to give up. As a new mom, and as first time operation in the frontier tech space. The fear of unknown and the upset of the setback some time can be unbearable.
I think this is what entrepreneurship really tests — not how you perform when everything is going well, but whether you can keep going when you are exhausted, uncertain, overwhelmed, and no longer sure how much more you have to give.
Somehow, I kept going.
And I hope from here, things will get better. Not easier necessarily, but better.
In the moments when I felt like I couldn’t keep going, I often came back to one simple thought:
What kind of world do I want to leave for my children?
That question gives me strength. And I’m extremely grateful that I am a mother who uses this as the strength to stand back up.
I want them to grow up in a world where technology empowers people, where they are not afraid of the future, and where they believe they have the ability to build, create, and make things better.
Maybe one day they will understand why their mom was not there all the time, and kept going.
For now, that is enough reason for me to keep building.
