A Covid-cautious lesbian bar in Western MA made customers wear KN-95s. When management decided to relax the mandate a few weeks ago, all hell broke loose.
The community they worked so hard to build turned on them — calling them ableist, racist, even eugenicist.

It's not shocking at all, in accepting a manufactured "end" to an ongoing pandemic the vast majority of people signed a permission slip for exactly this kind of thing. There was no scenario where people could rip off their masks and the harm would be limited to covid infections.
The callousness and indifference to peoples' health is shocking. I grew up in the pre-Clean Air Act era in the Ohio River valley, where emissions from mills and coal-fired power plants produced air so thick with pollutants that you could taste the sulfur. We must never go back.
