My new book Nights Out In The Kitchen is a culinary coming out: yes, there are many recipes inspired by my favourite restaurant dishes, but also there are mine, incl my braised spaghetti and meatballs, onion and Parmesan tart and salmon teriyaki.

Edinburgh people: I'm in your city this weekend, with a matinee performance on Sunday of my Nights Out In The Kitchen show. It's funny. I answer some very big questions, like "am I a bastard?" Then I answer your questions. Tickets at the link below.

For today’s @ftweekend I am at Kid, a big Soho opening we all have to weigh in. My take: the food is as lovely as you would expect from Sertac Dirik, but don’t let the ineffably cool Soho setting convince you it’s more radical than it is.

My big feature on the best brown dish this weekend included a recipe for a Tuscan Peposo, a beef and red wine stew with peppercorns. Which we didn’t read properly. Things were missing. Like what to do with the other half of the wine. So here it is, corrected. Apologies.
For today’s @ftweekend I am at Mirtala, a terrific neighbourhood restaurant celebrating both the food of Mexico, and a friendship between two women, one from Mumbai, the other from Nuevo Leon.

An interview with me by Reuters. As a student newspaper editor I got the application form for the Reuters Graduate Trainee scheme. It asked me to list the three languages other than my native tongue, In which I was fluent. The application stopped there.

For today’s @ftweekend I am at Igni, a live fire restaurant serving a brilliant tasting menu which is beautifully paced. Have pictures of the oyster in a cucumber beurre blanc, the Yukon gold bread, the aged duck, and the cannele.

For today’s @ftweekend I am at the slightly mad but very good Celentano’s, just reopened in a new Glasgow location, where they throw nuggets of lasagne in the deep fat fryer, serve linguine with a crab and nduja XO and many other good things besides.

Its publication day for Nights Out In The Kitchen so here’s a video for one of my recipes rather than one inspired by a restaurant dish: braised spaghetti and meatballs, the very idea of which might drive Italians mad (the braising, that is). To order:

Behold, I am interviewed by Deliaonline, which feels like a kind of benediction from the Queen of Cookery Writers. (Althoughto be clear, Delia herself didn't interview me; there are limits.)
