whether this is true or not, this shows how far crypto companies have to go in order to create “success” stories around the product. this is just sad af.
wait… so you’re telling me these KOLs “printing” on fomo and pump were just: > partnered with teams to buy coins using funds given to them > paid cash to publicly hodl those coins > never actually had their own capital at risk > round-tripped the “profits” because it was never their money > led thousands of their “followers” who are used as exit liquidity to the slaughterhouse > and somehow convinced everyone they’re god-tier traders wild. don’t confuse an undisclosed paid partnership with someone actually trading their own capital. one is trading. the other is paid marketing.

majority of crypto only know @jackbutcher by his NFTs but if you're a real fan of his work, you'd know: visualize value (visualizevalue.com) it's essentially a tool where you can literally "visualize" value, ideas, and frameworks that bring your creativity to life. this is perfect if you're a: • creators, founder, builder • developer, frontend-designer • brand strategist, creative director i downloaded his 100 free wallpapers for desktop (check out the examples below, strongly recommend to get a copy yourself) i've also included 2 screenshots of what you'd find on his website - absolutely a genius idea for creators and thinkers.

2 years later & i still stand by this.
i’ll be honest. i used to think being friends w/ everyone on this app was the way to go. but then you realize that there are ppl out there who only extract and use you for their own benefit. the sad part is that we don’t realize this until you really take a step back and look at things from a bird’s eye view. & it f*cking sucks. 3 years into this space, i’ve learned that you only really need 5-10 solid individuals around you that will hold each other accountable. that’s it. maybe this is the cost of being ‘early’ that we need more time to separate the real from the fake. web3 needs more genuine, authentic people.

trading, for gen z, is going to become a video game. tbh, i'm not surprised if it already is. i mean, take a look at orangie and his crew. all came from fortnite and absolutely crushed trading. therefore, 99% of trading terminals should have the UI/UX of a video game. imagine this: > beginner - it's a tutorial walkthrough. give them sections of breakdowns, small popups of what "x,y,z" does, etc. > intermediate - understands the game, but isn't a pro. they're familiar with the terminology and have a good grasp of what to look for. > advanced - understands everything. give these users the ultimate workstation that sets them up for success. these guys are your success stories, great for marketing. crypto teams are essentially bound to build for the younger generations. why? because they will be the main onboarding audience in the years to come. unfortunately, i feel like most crypto products already "expect" their user to know these things when onboarding them, but in reality, they don't. product designers, take note of this please.

writing this in the emergency room as i’m waiting for my fiance to be finished (dw, it’s nothing serious thank you God) but, as i look around the room and see the amount strangers who have also found themselves here for their own reasons, got me thinking about life and how short it is. there’s people here older, younger, and same age as me waiting for the results of a loved one or even their own. it saddens me to see their faces when dealing with uncertainty and fear. anyways, i share this because crypto can make us feel so siloed into a rabbit hole. while many of us here are chasing success, don’t forget to appreciate what you have today, show love to others, and never take every day for granted. that’s it for this one. brick by brick, 1% every day.

hot take: if the ui/ux is trash, your product will fail.
I wanna give some credit to Phantom for turning one of the best mobile wallets into utter garbage. Why can't I easily find my wallet address from the first page of the UI? Why does ever token sale automatically go to Phantoms stable coin? Why did they move the send or even receive tokens button into an obscure place and require 3-4 additional button clicks? It takes a special talent to turn a great product into an absolutely AWFUL one.

i believe why most creators burn out is because they're not really into the topics they're talking about. like can you imagine how miserable that actually is??? nowadays, everyone chases the trends, what's "hype", and what will bring the most engagement. yet we all know in the long run, this does nothing for your brand. for me, i recently shifted to talking about branding and design again and man, i've never felt so excited to share my thoughts and takes on these topics. i hope more creators adopt this moving forward.

the psychology behind good NFT pfps. let's use @ChogNFT for an example because i'm a huge fan of their design and their collection looks incredible. personally, it comes down to 3 things: 1) "how does it look on the timeline?" first, we have to remind ourselves that these pfps will be used on X (and maybe other apps too). therefore, we have to view it in two different aspects: • mobile • desktop/laptop ultimately, it's a really small circle we're working with. so if your design isn't properly taking up the right amount of space, it will be difficult to recognize, yet alone, look "good" on the timeline. 2) the composition of the design let's take a look at chog's design in full view. • 90% of the composition is the character. • 10% is the background color. personally, this is unlike most traditional collections out there where there's a lot more of the background showing compared to the main character (azuki, pudgy penguins, degods) but, i have to admit and respect chog's decision on going this route because it matches their brand, vibe, and emotion they bring onto the timeline (memey, bold, comedic, etc.) 3) color combos i know many of these collections are generated, but when it's curated the right way where certain colors stack on top of each other really nicely, it becomes a pfp that's fairly aesthetically pleasing to look at. in our example, we're using @bigchog and his choice of red dominant colors. the supporting colors like cream white, the dark grey, black, white, and occasional pink makes the red stand out. this can be a side topic, but it takes an "eye" to understand and know which colors look good together and which ones don't. if you want more help on developing the "eye", check out my recent article pinned on my profile. -- what are your guys favorite NFT pfps and why? do you agree with my 3 reasons? comment and let's discuss below 👇

tldr: real change starts with your identity. if you're not ready to be the person that: • changes your bad habits for better ones • makes decisions towards your dream life • curates their environment for success then, you're never going to get the life you want.
