This was my happy place! No, just kidding. The two years I spent on this Minesweeper were the toughest two years of my 20! Max speed 14 kts so couldn’t outrun weather. Had to strap in to sleep to keep from falling out of your rack in rough seas. Crew of only 84. Like most ships, 20% of the people do 80% of the work. 6 hrs on 6 hrs off underway, then 3 section duty in port. Lucky to get more than 4 hours sleep a day at sea and less on duty days in port Would I do it again? Absofrigginlutely!
