One day (hopefully many many years from now), there will eventually be a final episode of The Hard Count. These are the only regrets I would ever have when that day comes: 1. If we didn't empty the tank for the CFB community. Respect and love CFB too much to ever give anything less than our best. 2. If we didn't have an absolute BLAST. Talking about college football for a living is the furthest thing from "work." Review: - place was BUZZING. Texas and Tennessee fans in the cut. Great juice. - Knoxville is obviously insanely crowded but parking was painless in the structure next door. Also was free. - farmhouse burger was big time. Had to to take it to-go and wasn’t sure it would save. It saved. - Fries were good not great. Onion rings are the best I’ve ever had and I’m not even an onion ring guy - Garlic aioli was sneaky star of the show. - all things considered: 9.2/10. Would go again.

Went nuts on the Blackstone tonight. Back against the wall kind of spot. Couldn’t have 2 subpar showings. Was seeing the field clearly. Had stir fry steak on the high heat with sudden change to fried rice on the low heat. At the end of the day, it’s not about delivering an elite culinary product. That’s the standard. That’s the price of admission every time you fire up the propane tank. It’s about the ability to look adversity and failure in the face and not blink. That’s what I’m most proud of tonight. We will enjoy this one for 24 hours. Tomorrow it’s 0-0.
