Many workers were attracted to Bloomberg or stayed longer bc of the incredible health insurance. It made a competitor's offer at a similar salary unattractive to me. A less-generous PPO with premiums or a cheaper HDHP puts them in lockstep w others in finance & media.
Per a memo to staff today, Bloomberg employees now have to pay healthcare premiums. The company previously covered the costs. “Bloomberg’s approach of not asking employees to contribute to healthcare costs lasted longer than any of our peers,” the company told employees.

A $500 increase in the 401k matching cap is better than nothing. By the way, I still don't think a sale or IPO happens while MRB is alive, but maybe he's been convinced otherwise by advisers who will rake in $$$ if there's a deal.
