You basically have to give away half of that to onboard and hope you get more than nothing back in rewards. If folks are expected to spend their own money, the upside need to be great, and the mechanism for how to qualify for compensation needs to be crystal clear.

Not me coming down hard because this is good but one thing about grants is they also somewhat devalue creators. Their proliferation suggests income for creatives is optional. Having to compete against other creatives is not something creative people always love since many are collaborators at heart I think announcing a creative team you put on the payroll sets a good standard I’m not against grants but I do think we’re seeing too many of them when a hire or contract would be better suited Base can set the standard. I hope you think about where creatives will be in 5 years
