I build AI during the week. I preach on weekends. Both rooms ask me the same thing, just in different words. Should I be scared?

Weekdays I’m in rooms where AI is the new savior. Faster. Smarter. Never sleeps. Saturday nights I’m with young working adults who are quieter about it. They’re asking if what they build still matters. If they still matter. I get it. I used to play chess. The engine beat us twenty years ago. We didn’t quit. We started using it to get better. The tech room has all the information and almost none of the wisdom. The church room has the wisdom and is scared of the information. I live in both. This series is the bridge. Start here. God made humans in His image. Genesis 1:27. Then humans made AI. Not a copy of our brain. A copy of our words. Everything we ever wrote, argued, prayed, joked, lied about. So AI didn’t inherit our body. It inherited our character. A photocopy of a cracked mirror. Jesus said what comes out of the mouth shows what’s in the heart. Matthew 15:18. We built a machine out of everything that ever came out of our mouths. Don’t act shocked by what it shows back. “AI will save us” and “AI will destroy us” are the same error. Both treat it like it’s something other than us. Why I’m not scared: nothing we make gets one inch closer to the One who made us. A thing made by creatures does not threaten the Creator. That’s next week.

The danger isn’t that AI is too different from us. It’s that it’s exactly like us. And the good news hasn’t changed. Wisdom from above. Week 1.

Which room are you sitting in right now. Tech or church. What’s the actual question you’re asking. Every Thursday. One verse. One take. Week 2: God creates from nothing. Humans create from what God made. AI creates from what humans made.
