What makes SpaceX, SpaceX
A fully and rapidly reusable rocket will fundamentally change how humanity accesses outer space. “The Holy Grail of Rocketry” continues the ongoing Starship series with a look back at the scrappy days of SpaceX engineers proving reuse was possible and takes you onboard a high-seas race to recover a floating Starship

700 successful @SpaceX missions and thanks as always to @SES_Satellites for being a frequent flyer! We’ve launched crew and cargo to the International Space Station, commercial astronauts, Earth and astrophysics observatories, missions that went after asteroids for planetary defense, spacecraft bound for distant celestial bodies, lunar landers, GPS, and so much more! So proud of this team and grateful for every customer for trusting Falcon to deliver.

We successfully launched the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope today about 9 months ahead of its formal readiness date. Today’s Falcon Heavy mission was what we call a RXR mission (return-expendable-return), which signifies that the side boosters are to be recovered by returning to the launch site. The center core had to be expended today in order to achieve the proper delta-v for the 10 ton telescope to reach L2 - the second Sun–Earth Lagrange point, a spot in space about 1.5 million km from Earth on the far side of our planet from the Sun.

🫡 to Booster 1069 We refer to 1069 as the OG tippy rocket. It lived a long and fruitful life after it came about as close as you can get to being lost on its first mission. On that mission, CRS-24, it landed in rough seas and immediately had severe uneven leg loads, causing it to “tip.” We spent the next two hours watching the rocket on camera literally dance from side to side on the droneship. Through the incredible skill of our @SpaceX recovery team and a decent amount of luck, we were able to pin the rocket against the droneship tow board and blast wall with the octagrabber jammed under the engines. Somehow, against all odds, the team got 1069 home. We replaced all nine engines that were damaged in the process… and then it flew another 31 successful missions!!! 🚀 Never. Give. Up.

Good managers also do this.
“Most people don’t want be pushed that hard. They want to be pushed to their level of comfort. You need coaches that push you outside your comfort zone because that’s how you grow and that’s how you develop self confidence and self esteem. They push you to deal with failure,” Tom Brady 🎥 @dc_mma

We all work together for space safety
SpaceX has developed a novel Space Situational Awareness (SSA) system, called Stargaze → starlink.com/stargaze To maximize safety for all satellites in space, @SpaceX will be making Stargaze conjunction data available to all operators, free of charge. By providing this ephemeris sharing and conjunction screening service free of charge, we hope to motivate operators to take similar steps towards ephemeris sharing and safe flight.

What a year! This year, Falcon 9 launched hundreds of spacecraft for our commercial, government, and international customers, 16 astronauts to orbit, critical science and supplies to the @Space_Station, multiple lunar landers, and more! We also made significant progress in development of Starship propellant transfer and the HLS crewed lunar lander, including docking hardware builds, avionics testbeds, tests for crewed systems, lunar landing navigation, and more. Looking forward to even more exciting missions in the year ahead!
