In 2011 when Fine Gael came into power the fixed (ex VAT) tax on 1000l of kerosene for home heating oil was €38.02 15 years later the fixed tax (regardless of underlying price) is €160.81. That's a 323% increase. Before any external impact on base prices.

On top of that the VAT on the tax alone has gone from about €6.50 to about €32. Government ALONE has added about €200 in tax to a fill of home heating oil under Fine Gael.

And they took up the eu legislation that it’s acceptable to charge vat on tax. Is that because computers are 2 stupid to put an exempt on taxes and print out a receipt showing part of cost is exempt. Could reason b so punter does not see extra taxes?

I blame those looney Greens when they were in Government. Carbon Tax is a joke if there are no realistic alternatives - IRL should build 3 or 4 compact nuclear reactors and everyone switch to electric - job done and no emissions.
