I believe in a united Ireland. But it will never happen in my lifetime. An Ireland that can't tolerate 35 lads in hats walking in silence down a road at 8am - in accordance with a lawful court order - cannot be united. Popular hysteria can get stuffed. It gave us lockdowns.
Some factions of the Irish Right yet again showing themselves to be ridiculously out of touch with popular opinion re the Garvaghy Road. Owning Shinners by shilling for the Orange Order 200 IQ moves falling flat on their faces.

But @john_mcguirk how come Rossnowlagh is tolerated? And the other 1100+ Orange, Royal Black Preceptory and Apprentice Boys parades annually in the north?

I wouldn't have made the decision the parades commission did, Mick. But it's really about the rule of law: You can't agree to the commission and then pick and choose which of its decisions will be carried out. Parity of esteem etc.

Do you sincerely? I wouldn’t vote for it at gunpoint.

Sincerely in theory. But not the version most of the public seems to want.

Yes the future is on shaky ground but this could have been a great chance of building trust but SF do not want the Orange and Green as freinds.

Another far right racist who hates SF so much that he takes sides against them with whatever cause he can latch on to. In this instance John is happy to hitch his wagon to the Orange Cancer who murdered fellow Irish people over their perceived right to walk all over Catholics.

John should we tolerate Muslims using Croke Park too? Or when is it OK to refuse the impositions of invasive foreign cultures?

Classic cosseted west Brit response..Let's be honest, people in the west of Scotland or even Merseyside are better placed to comment on this than some free stater who's never seen an orange walk in his life.

Most Protestants don’t even support the march John. It’s the order that has a problem. Why do they have to march in an area where they caused so much death and suffering? How is that normal?

All of these posts are admissions of complete ignorance and lack of knowledge over what they're talking about. Interested to know if they'd have the same feelings on this dispute if it was their own children who were burned to death over it.

You mustn't be planning on sticking around much longer so, because UVF loyalist terrorists from outside the area trying to force an unwanted OO march down the Garvaghy Road will have no bearing on the requirement of 50%+1 for Reunification of Ireland. Everyone has 1 vote

They can walk home via Dungannon Road and Corcrain Road. They choose not to.

Catch a bloody grip man … This is exactly what this parade represents , whether it be 35 men or 1 .. Age old historical sectarianism and triumphalism ..

What a wishy washy post. 35 lads in hats walking in silence down a road at 8am isn't what this is about. So maybe you should get stuffed.

You're a naive gobshite if you think for a single second they'd stop at 35 marchers. Thats merely a foot in the door. Pass your address onto the Parades Commission, amd notify the Dail of the fact you'd be happy to have them march around your door.

Did Israel ask for the permission of Palestinians when they founded their country? And you know as well as I, no Israeli government would ever allow Islamists the same leeway as is currently afforded the Orange Order.

Ifs and buts John. If you walk into a Manchester utd pub on march day with a Liverpool shirt on , you're getting abuse and assaulted. Some things in life are better off left alone. That march down that road is basic antagonising and trouble making
