William Shatner’s heavy metal band the *uckers made their live debut last night at Park West in Chicago, playing covers of Ozzy Osbourne, Motörhead and Metallica alongside three originals. The 95-year-old Shatner is performing with the band today at Riot Fest

The attacks on Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey feel more like outrage farming than film criticism. The craftsmanship from the acting and score to the costumes and sets is truly extraordinary. It also created good jobs for thousands of skilled people. I can’t wait to see it again.

1/ A few nights ago, I rewatched Stevie Ray Vaughan’s legendary 1983 Austin City Limits set.
What struck me this time was how little he seemed to be managing. He was completely inside the music.
