At eighteen, Patrick Leigh Fermor walked from the Hook of Holland towards Constantinople. In 1944, with SOE on Crete, he and Billy Moss led the abduction of General Kreipe, who was taken over the mountains to Egypt. Fermor later wrote both the walk and the raid into classics.

Big congrats to @trspalding and the team!
Most of DeFi uses collateral to take out loans. Anvil uses it to keep promises. Verifiable guarantees for payments and credit, now easy to integrate with our new SDK. Excited to have Founders Fund and an incredible group of partners in the Anvil community.

Proud to see leading institutional investors support @anvil_xyz, more businesses put the Protocol to work, and the technology continue to advance. These are major steps forward for digital asset use across traditional finance.

The Met Police could impose conditions on the offensive Islamist march so that they aren’t allowed to march on the 7th October, or they could confine them to the outskirts of London. The Met won’t because they are cowards. In collaboration with a Labour Home Secretary, the Met weren’t afraid to ban my inoffensive ‘Walk With Jesus’ march from Tower Hamlets. Again they wanted to placate the Islamists. The police are proving their two-tier bias - free speech for some and not others.
🧵 We have imposed conditions on a student march that is expected to take place tomorrow, Wednesday, 7 October.

Keeping this under covers is presumably in the interest of this Labour government
How quiet has the Mandelson saga gone? In March, Parliament was told the Cabinet Secretary’s review had been paused because the matter was with police. Yet months later, where is the Met investigation? No charge, no reported interview, no clearance, no conclusion. Silence.

The problem with these “25/50/100/250 years ago live” Twitter accounts is that there are vast multitudes on this website who are barely sentient, let alone able to count, and they also have access to the Community Notes function.

i try to not get involved with this stuff. bahhtt,
Takeaways: TLDR: I'm on the damn moon with this announcement @anvil_xyz is now backed by the largest funds in the world, including @foundersfund @PanteraCapital @ThetaInvest & @Bullish @joeykrug is the pioneer of Web3 native prediction markets & has the ability to open every gambling door for Anvil (he's quoted in the PR, & is the GOAT) The announcement language makes it feel like these investors bought at the current market rate. No dilution. No new tokens. Their floor becomes ~ $60-$80m market cap. These are likely the transactions that @cryptopapi_mike was seeing onchain I don't think Founders Fund has ever led a token round... I could be wrong, but this is HUGE validation into the actual value of $ANVL. These are the same investors that have Facebook, Airbnb, Credit Karma, Figma, & OpenAI in their portfolio. They pick unicorns. These funds don't just "pick unicorns". Their rolodex is MASSIVE. We're about to see a wave of partnerships to Anvil through all of the doors that these VCs can open. $5m seems like such a fiscally responsible raise number. Gets the big boys hands dirty, but leaves the door open for a much bigger raise at larger market caps. I was already excited about Bullish using Anvil. But to have them as an investor is even bigger imo. Expect Anvil to be platformed on Coindesk & Consensus every year as a marquee partner (🔥)

Nails it. “If you're going to try, go all the way. Otherwise, don't even start. This could mean losing girlfriends, wives, relatives and maybe even your mind. It could mean not eating for three or four days. It could mean freezing on a park bench. It could mean jail. It could mean derision. It could mean mockery--isolation. Isolation is the gift. All the others are a test of your endurance, of how much you really want to do it. And, you'll do it, despite rejection and the worst odds. And it will be better than anything else you can imagine. If you're going to try, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to perfect laughter. It's the only good fight there is.”
