Platforms recommending AI slop music is a real problem. The music distribution system is not built for the sheer volume of AI slop music from talentless hacks.
Spotify's mission to curb the rise of AI-generated music has resulted in the removal of 50 million AI slop tracks from users’ recommendations.
The 50 million removed tracks follow the more than 75 million AI songs that Spotify pulled completely from the platform after they were flagged as spam. According to Spotify, the 50 million AI-generated tracks are still available but a user would have to actively seek them out to find them.

YouTube will begin labeling AI-generated songs across its main platform and YouTube Music to increase “transparency,” the latest service to publicly mark tracks as not produced by humans.
“Generative AI is opening up new ways for artists to create, experiment, and share music,” YouTube said in a blog post. “As these tools evolve, our listeners have told us they want transparency when they’re hearing an AI-generated track.”

Netflix is laying off around 1,000 employees, representing 6% of its workforce, in what is the streamer's biggest layoff to date.
Most of the layoffs will affect workers in Netflix’s product, technology, legal and HR teams.

“Do not become an actor. Do not join SAG. You can work for 35 years and they still say [middle finger emoji]. SAG-AFTRA [president] Sean Astin, you’re doing a bang up job. How about stop using actors to run things maybe? They literally just know how to say words in front of a camera.”
Bell posted a screenshot of the SAG-AFTRA health plan website that says "you do not qualify for Health Plan coverage at this time." The webpage says Bell has earned $17,480.53 and needs $11,452.47 more to qualify by reaching the $28,933 required for the SAG-AFTRA Health Plan.
