The best thing about supporting United is you never know what will happen next. The worst thing about supporting United is you never know what will happen next.

If they'd announced the decision in July, nobody would have signed for City this summer.
Imo for what it's worth. @premierleague concluded their decision months ago, but withheld it until the beginning of an unprecedented 3wk break. Perfect timing for MSM to spend the whole time demolishing City with no league football to interfere... 1/2

When the rules weren't in place he almost destroyed Palace. Since they were in place Palace have had their longest period in the top flight and won 3 trophies.

It actually is important. How does the PL stay meaningful & authentic? How does it continue to matter? By being perceived as enforcing rules and applying a deterrent that discourages this happening again. The feelings and views of fans across the whole league feeds into that.
It’s really lovely to see rival fans and clubs coming together to help decide what punishment City should receive. Nothing says “for the good of football” quite like a collective pile on to decide how much another club should suffer, despite having absolutely no authority to do so. A genuine spirit of togetherness. Almost touching.

Having left a second-tier club in administration after repeatedly struggling to pay wages, a situation driven at least in part by wage inflation in the PL, you'd think someone would be against unlimited funds being pumped in But that wouldn't play to the gallery would it

Had never considered that even if City are not expelled as part of the sanctioning, should they continue to cause problems & legal cases, cause PL to spend all their money on lawyers & damage the league, the clubs could, at some point, vote to expel City of their own volition.
😳 "If Man City continue to lose and continue to fight, there is a very real prospect they could be expelled..." Matt Slater of The Athletic spoke to Jay on what punishments Manchester City could face 🗣️ #MUFC

Matthijs de Ligt has looked 'good' since returning to full training and is closing in on a much anticipated return. The 27 yo played in #MUFC's behind closed door game against Lausanne on Saturday. Would be a huge boost for Carrick. Details ⬇️ @UtdDistrict roundtable.io/sports/soccer/…

1.7million views of this tweet. Unequivocally the biggest scandal in UK sports history (Man City’s cheating, not me being abused, just to be clear 😂). I won’t be relenting on my coverage, which will primarily be on the Sportingintelligence Substack. You can Subscribe for free

Since Man City won their first PL title in 2012, Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal have won 4 PL titles combined, between them. City have won 8 by themselves. Thus I'm not convinced that your "monopoly" point about MUFC, LFC and AFC has any validity whatsoever.
Absolutely but what’s happened to Villa and Newcastle shows there’s no level playing field. Most don’t want Utd/Lfc/arsenal having a monopoly

Idea City were only spending as others is complete crap From 2009-18 over wages, transfer amortisation and impairments, City spent: • £272m more than United (despite United hiring far more staff) • £301m more than Chelsea • £802m more than Arsenal • £840m more than Liverpool

People keep saying "The EPL found City guilty." It didn't. An INDEPENDENT commission did, three members chaired by a KC, appointed through the same judicial system City themselves used to beat the League over sponsorship rules. The League only brought the case. City agreed to this process. They just didn't expect to lose it.

I don’t think this is hyperbole in the slightest. There’s nowhere to go if City are allowed to get away with it. The integrity and appeal of the Premier League will be in the gutter.
I’m not exaggerating when I say the future of English football rests on the morally correct outcome of this Man City charges saga. We are deep into uncharted territory.

City refused to co-operate with UEFA. Then refused to co-operate with PL. Then took PL to court to claim PL couldn't investigate them (they lost). Then took it to court of appeal so it couldn't be published (they lost). Then put documents on a server PL couldn't fully access

Then after another cache of documents leaked in 2022, PL realised City hadn't provided all the relevant documents. Yet City fans still believe this is a club with irrefutable evidence who look forward to clearing their name. UAE certainly picked the perfect gullible fanbase.
