Start with the decision in one sentence: what you’re choosing, by when, and what happens if you do nothing. Numbers come after that. We use Listen → Clarify → Act for this: jonspire.com/
As a business owner, SME growth financing is virtually non-existent even with a bank you may have had transaction history with for years and a strong cash flow. You will discover you are not even able to get a credit line of N100,000. But these useless bankers will clog your business locations with their body odour during lunch hour harassing you to open an account while promising you support to help you grow your business when the time arises. They only care about the POS fees, transaction fees and monthly bank fees. I see why Opay and Palmpay have become even attractive for growing businesses. Traditional banks in Nigeria are simply trash! Please name & shame them in the comments section, I may be tempted to give two of them free publicity! Tueh......

Happy to look at it properly. General notes are on jonspire.com/ — advisory sessions are there if you want it applied to your numbers.
𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗺𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 foreign exchange (FX) is not just something you hear about when people talk about the economy. It actually comes up in everyday life. ◈ Getting paid from another country
◈ Sending money abroad
◈ Paying for something in another currency
◈ Working with people outside Nigeria And because of that, when I saw @KiiChainio talking about 24/7 Onchain FX, I wanted to understand what that could actually mean for people like us.

Importers: the naira rate on the day you order isn't the rate on the day you pay. Before your next order, ask: • What's my margin if the rate moves 10% against me? • Can I lock in a price or pay a deposit earlier? • Who carries the risk, me or my customer?

Many SMEs don't have a sales problem. They have a pricing problem. If your costs rose 30% but your prices rose 10%, you're working harder to earn less. This week: take your top 5 products, recalculate what each really costs you, and reprice the ones with thin margins.

🌐 Oil stays above $100, and that cuts both ways for Nigeria
Why it matters: Brent ended the week at about $104.32 (week ending Sep 25). Hopes of a US–Iran truce pulled WTI down about 8%, but Houthi attacks on Saudi infrastructure and tight diesel supply kept Brent high. For Nigeria, that means more oil revenue and FX, but also pressure on diesel and transport costs.

4Downside: diesel, aviation fuel and transport costs, plus the imported inflation that made the SARB hike.
