Before you check, yes he voted to confirm every one of these people
Sen. Thom Tillis on President Trump's Cabinet: — Pete Hegseth is "the biggest regret of my career." — Says he should have stopped RFK Jr. from becoming health secretary. — Tulsi Gabbard won't be challenging anyone "for president of her local Mensa chapter. " — Kristi Noem is a dog murderer — Howard Lutnick quote is "nuttier than squirrel shit." "I stand by all that."

Trump not knowing the name of the GOP candidate in Nebraska but easily recalling the Ravens record is the most American thing about him.
Trump: "We almost have Baltimore Ravens star -- oh ho ho, these guys are making a lot of money, they're going very well. I think they're 3-1 or something. Ravens star Marlon Humphrey, Tyler Loop, Brian Eckley, and Nick Moore. Could you stand up? Say hell to your quarterback. I know his mother."

Honestly Trump saying high gas prices are a small price to pay is probably more damaging to him with persuadable voters in the battleground than him saying nuclear attacks on LA and San Diego are a small price.

A war becoming disasterous is actually not an argument that it should’ve never been fought.
It’s so strange that you can oppose WWl, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran or pretty much any war from this century or the last as a complete disaster that never should have been fought and it’s a complete safe position. In fact, it seems almost no one can even attempt to offer a rationale for any of them. But, it is radioactive to even question the wisdom of fighting the Second World War. On its face, that’s just weird.

You can get away with almost anything if people just presume you’re really stupid.
Here are Trump's fuller comments about Los Angeles and San Diego. My read: The "small price to pay" comment refers back to the costs of the war -- like gas prices -- not to the idea of Iran nuking LA and SD. But Trump speaks so circuitously these days.

Taking children seriously requires taking seriously the fact that children’s lust for good explanations is inherently skeptical and their experimentation inherently disobedient.

Really enjoyed the latest Argument podcast on the rise of the far right in Europe—check it out for a great discussion of some rarely stated truths about immigration (and a few shoutouts to yours truly!)
Highbrow economic rationalizations for anti-immigration politics are both wrong on the merits and fail to engage with the real reasons so many voters in the west are opposed to immigration. theargumentmag.com/p/stop-tr…

I am once again begging people to stop being so credulous. The number of states is secondary to the Palestinian position on “right of return”. If you don’t solve the latter, the former is irrelevant.
“Although there is Palestinian opposition to a two-state solution, a growing proportion—now a majority—wants it, and yearns for more capable and responsible leadership that addresses their needs and provides security,” write Michael Robbins, @AmaneyJamal, and Mark Tessler. bit.ly/46YB7wA

I wonder if "Britain would be better off if Hitler had won World War II" is one of the political issues that Vance disagrees with his good friend Tucker Carlson about.

No mention of how endless US welfare to Israel enables them to destabilize the very countries many of these migrants are coming in from. “Welfare bad”…unless it’s for Israel’s bombs and slaughter campaigns.

NEW: President Trump directly told Russ Vought to find the funds to finance the ads glorifying him. The agency’s general counsel and WH counsel both signed off on the move as legal. The president and WH chief of staff spoke to the DHS secretary. nytimes.com/2026/10/02/us/po…

Disastrous interview for Jennifer Balkcom, the GOP nominee for #NC11. Asked whether scandal-plagued Rep. Chuck Edwards should resign: Balkcom paused for 14s: "I'm not sure… he messed up… that's kind of where I'd leave it." Reporter: "So you're on the fence." Balkcom: "Yes."

It is actually not true that authors of a book have to explicitly utter the title of the book in order to be true proponents of the contents within the book.
Now that Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson have abandoned the so-called "Abundance" movement (Thompson hasn't mentioned it on X since April 2026, Klein since November 2025) can we all agree that it was a centrist grift/op and relegate it to the dustbin of history where it belongs?

Here's the thing. If you have issues with the Jack Smith investigation, your best argument is this should have been handled by political processes, namely impeachment, conviction, removal, and disqualification. But Senate Rs rejected that and tossed it to the criminal system.

Hope House Dems will commit to hearings on this, the weird blockade against ads for the Musk documentary, and related issues.
.@SherrodBrown says in a blog post that half of his campaign Facebook ads went dark with no notice, costing him "thousands and thousands of dollars – and potentially thousands of votes." @Meta spokesperson @andymstone tells me there was "an error over the weekend impacted the delivery of ads for several advertisers, including the Brown campaign. All of the Brown campaign's ads have since been restored. We apologize for the error."

They told me the same thing when I applied to work at Chick-Fil-A as a teenager.
Hegseth: "It's worth saying again so the fake news understands it. We are no longer the woke department or the weak department. Simple translation of that -- no fatties no trannies no beardos no weirdos no wimps no radicals. Just warriors."
