One of my fervent hopes is that Rubio and Vance are conducting polling on their POTUS ambitions & are receiving an unambiguous message from Republicans/ Independents that allowing Trump to throw our lot in with Russia is 100% disqualifying for them.

It may be the case that Trump’s most lasting contributions to the English language may not be “cofefe” or “bigly” but rather new expessions of duration, a “ Scaramucci”and now a “Zacharia”. May they outlast his name on gaudy monuments.

We are at a point where Dems, Independents, and Republicans who are unhappy with this mess have to 1) register and vote, and 2) vote Dem / non GOP all the way down the ticket. Even if you like your GOP senator, Governor, or Rep. November needs to be an overwhelming GOP rebuke.

In contrast, the Administration’s silence on Russia’s bombing campaign of Ukrainian cities and the targeting of civilians is disgusting. The President has lost credibility here and abroad.
New: Trump administration has warned Ukraine and allies in Europe that the US could suspend intelligence sharing and European purchases of US weapons for Ukraine if Kyiv does not halt its deep strikes on Russian energy facilities, two European offcials tell CNN. Today, there was a statement from the President of the United States that an energy ceasefire has been secured. This is good news for everyone – and it is important that it become reality. Unfortunately, Ukrainian skies have been infested with Russian “shaheds” all day today. There have been glide bomb strikes and strikes on our energy infrastructure too. A power plant in Kharkiv was attacked this evening. Overall, this past week alone, the Russians have carried out more than 200 strikes on our electricity generation and transmission facilities in Ukraine, and another 17 strikes this week targeted gas and oil facilities. They have killed more than 150 of our people, and more than 700 people have been wounded. Ukraine has proposed many de-escalatory steps. Putin had one answer to all of them – “nyet.” We do hope that he will finally say something to America, Ukraine, and the entire world that will lead to a real and dignified peace. Ukraine wants peace. The question is whether Russia does. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have received all the appropriate orders. We are awaiting clear details of the dialogue between America and Russia – and we expect Putin to follow through on what President Trump said.

So the WH has apparently decided to try to shift the blame for the disastrous choice they made to go to war in Iran on Ukraine. That is quite a magic trick. They are good at this though (not taking responsibility for their own actions), so we need to push back with truth.

This is how you push back. Let’s get it done.
We will be introducing bipartisan legislation to block any and all purchases of Russian oil. It will be called the “Ronald Reagan Peace Through Strength Act.” It will be forced to the Floor via discharge and it will pass overwhelmingly. #PeaceThroughStrength

The world needs to transition away from fossil fuels. It will take time, but so many of our problems stem from their use and the places they come from.

Another way to think about Trump announcement today: If he increased US diesel imports from Canada by 4%, he would gain as much fuel as from this Russia deal. But the Canadians are global super-villains, so who wants to buy from them when you could enrich Putin instead?

“If you're gonna win, you're gonna not buy oil from Russia” — President Trump. @RealDonaldTrump has long criticized buyers of Russian oil. Today he decided to become one of them.

Ask yourself why we need to import Russian diesel, when we are exporting diesel on a daily basis….the world has a diesel shortage, we don’t. We pay global market prices, which are unlikely to change much, or not at all. Seems like something else going on here.

A few weeks ago, Congress overwhelmingly passed legislation to increase sanctions and tariffs on Russia. The President should be using those authorities instead of allowing Russia to export diesel, rake in revenues, and continue its catastrophic war in Ukraine. We can discuss Russia’s return to global energy markets once the war is over, but in the meantime, we need to cut off everything fueling it. apnews.com/article/trump-rus…

I didn’t know that the state of US energy supply was so fragile that we now need to import Russian diesel? What a mess…

When will we move from “your guy did it to us, so we are fine with our guy doing it to you” to “this is intolerable behavior from any leader”?

That was the sound of @SenEricSchmitt ‘s ambitions for higher office going down the drain. Sort of the opposite of Caitlin Clark draining a 3 from half court at a Maryland-Iowa game played in Maryland.

Just a reminder that President Trump voted by mail this week, for the second time this year. Meanwhile the White House says "universal mail-in voting should not be allowed because it's highly susceptible to fraud." So he should be able to vote by mail, but you shouldn't?

It is crazy. It is propaganda. It is rhetoric by people who support the status quo, which has generated $40tr in National Debt over the past few decades. The idea that this is a spending problem alone. This won’t be fixed without increases in govt revenue and cuts in spending
