Dealing with an outbreak of avian botulism at Walton Hall Park in Liverpool. Horrendously sad. Entered the lake yesterday in my dry suit. Many birds already dead. Recovered 3 mallards and a little Grebe displaying late stage disease plus a young gull, not showing any symptoms

I attended Appleby today in preparation for the start of the fair. My self and a colleague from our water rescue team removed any sharp or hazardous objects from the river to prevent injuries to the horses. It was a hot one 🥵

Last job of the day involved a swim across a lake in Prescott to rescue a little #Canada goose gosling entangled in fishing line on an island. Very luckily it was a quick rescue and release back to parents & siblings 👍❤️
