It’s beyond time to get rid of roadblocks stopping projects and get the US building a lot more energy infrastructure. With so much demand and high prices, House leadership needs to get its act together to move on permitting quickly as well.

i am so cool with this. The ballot initiative process has been exploited by national or out of city groups to use DC as a lab for their ideas. That undermines home rule and ironically takes pressure off the council to do its job.
The D.C. Council gave initial approval to a bill that would put new restrictions on ballot initiatives, raising concerns from critics that lawmakers are trying to kill off the city’s only tool that lets voters bypass the council and directly pass laws themselves.

The public gets tradeoffs. We need to build more to make energy cheaper AND to build more clean energy. NRDC’s opposition is cloaked in reasonableness but will only get us a status quo that’s failing both affordability and scaling clean.
This is what I warned about over the weekend, the NRDC is fighting to preserve the opportunity to do pretextual anti-pipeline lawsuits rather than than get to yes on a deal that will make it easier to build clean energy.

This is “let’s just pretend Trump didn’t start the Iran war” rationalizing most college freshman quickly grow beyond. It’s insulting. Every driver and company impacted by diesel prices has experienced that the increase has come with the war.
the real reason is we stopped building refineries in 1977 for stupid left wing reasons and cancelled two pipelines.
