It's bittersweet to shut down Gizmo, a labor of love by so many people for the last couple years, but I'm excited for Pocket and what's next.
Starting a company is something I wanted to do for a long time, and it was way more fun than I imagined. I owe everything to my cofounders and early team, who couldn't have been a more perfect bunch to build with.
And thank you to @tjack, who took a big bet on us, and to the rest of our investors and early users (gizmologists!).
The vision for Atma Sciences -- Atma is "apps to make apps" -- was to create tools that let anyone express their creativity in ways that were not previously possible. We're going to stay true to that mission with madewithpocket.com (now on iOS and Android!)

Just tried @MakeGizmos for the first time and the app is incredible. It's like Instagram for vibe coding (?). Really shows how much creativity is about to be unlocked.

Also we had to discount these from our time spent metrics 😅
i originally tested this concept on @MakeGizmos with a simple "flip to focus" timer.
as of today, the proof of concept has over 8k likes with hundreds of comments ranging from "it helped me do my homework" to "i accidentally took a nap"...
felt like i was on to something so that lead me to start working on flipphone.co
