If you apply this to Newton's first law of motion, which says, "An object at rest stays at rest, and an object in motion stays in motion at a constant speed in a straight line, unless an outside force acts on it," you realize that if you travel in a circle in space that has an infinite radius, you will one day come back to the same spot.
